Invoice Generator

Line items, tax and a discount in; a clean invoice out, ready to save as a PDF.

How it works

  1. 1Fill in your details, your client’s details, and the line items — each opens with a filled-in example so the layout is visible immediately.
  2. 2Add a tax rate and, if this invoice has one, a discount as a percentage or a fixed amount.
  3. 3The invoice on the right updates as you type. Save it as a PDF with the browser’s own print dialog, or copy the totals as plain text.

Common questions

Is the discount applied before or after tax?
Before. The discount reduces the taxable amount first, then tax is calculated on what is left — the usual order, and the one that matches how most tax authorities expect it shown.
What if the discount is larger than the invoice?
It is capped at the subtotal, so the invoice cannot show a negative amount due.
Does this send the invoice, or track whether it was paid?
No — it only produces the document. Nothing is uploaded, stored or emailed; the PDF comes from your own browser’s print dialog.
Can I reuse this for a quote or a receipt instead?
Yes — every label and the totals logic work the same; just change the heading text and the line items to match.

Need to work out a loan repayment instead?

The Loan Calculator turns a principal, rate and term into a monthly payment and a full amortization schedule.
