Tasks

TaskStartFinish%Milestone

How it works

  1. 1Start from the sample rows, paste a list out of a spreadsheet, or pull the tasks straight from a schedule file.
  2. 2Each row needs a name, a start and a finish. Tick the milestone box for a zero-length event and it draws as a diamond.
  3. 3Percent complete fills the darker part of each bar, so the chart shows progress as well as dates.
  4. 4Download as PNG for a slide or as SVG if you want to edit it in a design tool afterwards.

Common questions

Do I need an account?
No, and there is no watermark on the download. The chart is drawn in your browser and the image is generated there too.
What date formats can I paste?
Both day-first and month-first. The whole column is examined together and the order that works for every value wins, so 05/10/2026 is not guessed in isolation. ISO dates like 2026-10-05 are always unambiguous.
Can I build the chart from a project file?
Yes — use "From a file" and drop in a CSV, Excel, MS Project XML or Primavera XER. The first sixty dated tasks become rows, and you can then delete the ones you do not want on the slide.
PNG or SVG?
PNG for pasting into PowerPoint or a document. SVG if you want to change fonts, colours or labels afterwards in a design tool — it stays sharp at any size.
Why are the bars not showing dependencies?
This tool is deliberately a picture, not a scheduling engine. If you want the logic worked out, use the Critical Path Calculator, which computes float and the driving path from predecessors.

A chart is a snapshot. A plan is a sequence of them.

PlanView keeps every version of a schedule and generates the timeline for you each time, with late work coloured by the analytics rather than by hand.
